I am currently taking bookings for online lessons only. I am a friendly and supportive piano teacher with a 100% pass rate from both the ABRSM and LCM exam board with many of my pupils attaining a distinction grade.

I also teach pupils who wish to learn for fun and with less focus on exams and grades. I will always accommodate my teaching to fit your request. I teach children from age 6 up to adults and pride myself on the quality of my teaching.

How does online work? Is it any good?

I get asked this question a lot and it is understandable. During the lockdown we all had to learn to work in a different way. I was surprised at how natural online lessons felt. The initial set up just requires a clear view from the camera and a secure internet connection to enable clear audio. Once the set up is complete it feels very much like I am there in person - with the benefit that I can demonstrate parts much easier by showing my hands close up for the pupil. I teach a large number of online lessons and they are all very successful.

How much do you charge and how long are the lessons?

As a rule of thumb I recommend lessons of either 20 or 30 minutes for younger pupils to enable retention of ideas taught and to facilitate concentration and focus. For adults at beginner level I would recommend a weekly 30 minute lesson and for more advanced pupils (grade 5 and above) I would suggest 1 hour once per week. 20 minute lessons are £12 - 30 minute lessons are £15 and 1 hour lessons are £30.

Do you teach theory?

I certainly do! I am able to teach theory and composition alongside GCSE Music tips and strategies. As a former classroom teacher I have a range of experience in this area. Just let me know what you want to focus on and we can set up a plan of action.
